sandy’s story
We got Sandy when she was around 6 or 7 years old in 2019. She is a beautiful horse, and she was surrendered to us by one of our supporters who has now become a good friend of ours. She tried her utmost best to provide for Sandy, but it prevailed to be harder than she expected. Sandy is not genuinely nice to other horses and kept hurting the other horses she lived with. After 6 months of trying, they made the decision to offer her to us.
Sandy is a very affectionate horse, who has been through a lot of hardship in her life. She has witnessed things that have most certainly affected her. Despite her past, she is kind and trusting if given time. She is rideable and just craves love and attention. She has a slight identity crisis – she thinks she is a dog and acts like a dog! Just like our sheep, Marley. That must be why they get along so well! We love her so much and welcomed her with open arms to our AHF family.
