Shimbungu – a true inspiration! He came all the way from Namibia to be in our care. This little boy only ever experienced true heartache and trauma at the hands of
humans he trusted and needed. Due to all the pain, this boy endured he ended up paralyzed. Despite this, he has grown in leaps and bounds! His recovery has been slow, but truly remarkable. We are optimistic about Shimbungu! He is a role model and a pure motivational little boy. His motto is “never give up!”. You can google Shimbungu’s story or follow him on Facebook. Zeus is one of the very first arrivals here on the farm. Zeus was being sold outside a petrol station in the area and we decided we had to take him in. This strong young man is the leader of his gang and most certainly has a crazy side! He is one of a kind – a true warrior.

Rusty was rescued as a stray and brought into AHF for safekeeping. No one ever came for him, so we happily made him part of our family. This boy is a real softy. He fits in wherever he needs to and blends in so well with his friends here at the foundation.

This sweet girl was found on the other side of the AHF farm a few months after we moved in. She was in a petrified and terrible condition. This baby girl was only a puppy when we found her. We gained her trust and let her be the princess she is! Cassie always has her guard up and doesn’t trust easily, but once you get into her heart, she will love you unconditionally.

This beautiful boy truly carries such a remarkable mix of traits of whatever he truly is breed-wise. He is an ambitious person and loves to play. He enjoys running and is amazingly fast on his feet. Blaze has fitted in beautifully and will forever be safe and loved for the rest of his life here at AHF.
Spirit
Alaskan Malamute | Male
Spirit – The one and only. He has been in the care of AHF for the last 4 years after we assisted in rescuing him from a river. He was bound by the front and back legs with wire and was thrown away like rubbish! Left to drown and die. This beautiful boy created enough attention that two men walking alongside the river heard this dog and immediately called for help. Spirit really endured such cruelty and mistreatment that our hearts will always hurt for him. He nearly lost a leg in the process and walked a long road to recovery. His successful conclusion is truly that – just bliss and unconditional love from us for this boy! For the rest of his life, he will never experience what he did ever again and every day we make him know that. He is a lovely boy with beautiful nature. He loves to play with his friends and eat of course! That’s spirits best.

Jack – another local stray. We found this poor boy wandering in the road on Christmas Eve one year. We took him in and after weeks of no one claiming him, we decided he could stay here at the foundation and live his best life. Jack is a very loyal boy and always has the backs of those who love him. He will protect him where and when he needs to. This serious boy is aloof and enjoys his space, but when no one is watching, he plays with his friends and spends time with his bestie, Cassie girl.

This princess is one of a kind. Such a vision of ‘Nothing is impossible’. Nala is blind and has been with the foundation for a year now. To watch how this girl adapts to her surroundings is just remarkable! This girl does everything through hearing, smelling, and feeling. Most people can’t believe that Madam Nala is blind! That’s how magical she is!

The oldest and toughest girl you will meet. This lady is the oldest member of the foundation and carries such zest and charisma. She loves cuddles, blankets, and toys.

This young lady was found by an incredible man who works in the area. He rescued her and sadly couldn’t keep her. She was subject to some past traumas but has flourished and is such a cutie! Sponsor her today!

This beautiful boy is such a softie. He is a gentle and calm being. He is shy and vastly different from his twin sister, Tara. They have been with us for many years and are the heart of the big dog pack. Tig loves to laze about in the sun.

Sadly, these babies were both abandoned and left with us over a year ago. They fit in beautifully. A lot of love, care, and course, food, goes into their care.

Trump is a pure breed chocolate Labrador, and he is one big goofball. We are so happy he found us and is living his best life. This boy didn’t have the best start in his life – he was homeless twice prior to us. Trump was totally disregarded because he was naughty. He gave up on it and surrendered to us. One of our mottos is: Think wisely before getting a pet, as they need you for their entire life, not just a part of it!

Meet beautiful Molly! This princess was rescued on the main road to Hartbeespoort NW, South Africa. She was lost and scared. Her owners never came forward to claim her, so she became part of the AHF family. Molly is the sweetest girl, and her best friend is Akira, our wolf pup. She is such an easy-going gal. We love her so much!
